I began my spiritual journey back in the early 80’s when my sister and brother-in
-law introduced me to Transcendental Meditation that was developed by, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1917-2008). They believed it would help boost my confidence, clarity of thought, concentration and may help with a visual condition known as nystagmus which is an uncontrolled eye movement usually from side to side that can also reduce vision. After practicing for some time I found that for me this meditation helped immensely in many areas of my life.
After many years I took an interest in Tai Chi and joined a well known full time martial arts school in Bedford. I knew Tai Chi is a martial art but it is also an internal art that allows the free flow of energy known as universal life force energy promoting health and longevity through gentle controlled movements and breathing exercises. It was through my practice of this art that a deeper understanding of this unseen energy that permeates all living things was developing.
In 2004 I had a lump removed and while I was recovering from the operation I was in a local book store just browsing and found a book on Tai Chi, as I was turning the pages I found a Tai Chi master healing someone with a head ache. I found this fascinating as I had heard of hands on healing or healing hands but always thought it was a gift you were born with. Not sure what to expect I went home to see if I could channel some of this energy to accelerate my own recovery. Having felt some reduced pain I wanted to find out more.
I was talking to one of my nieces about this healing method and she began to tell me about a, hands on healing system known as Reiki she suggested that I find a teacher as I was more interested in actually practicing the method to help others and not just for my own recovery.
I hadn’t heard of Reiki before so my wife and daughters brought me a book that explained what reiki is all about and its positive effects it can have. Shortly after I found a great teacher who ran a natural therapy centre/shop in Bedford along with his wife and took my Reiki 1 attunement in September 2005 and began practicing as a practitioner in 2006 offering Reiki to clients from the surrounding area. In March 2007 I was attuned to Reiki Master Practitioner, and Rreiki Master Teacher in March 2010. My spiritual journey continues along with new opportunities and challenges that I embrace with a positive outlook.
My mission is to offer clients a peaceful, tranquil and safe space where they can relax and allow themselves the chance to return their equilibrium to a state of balance and harmony that can support their recovery and wellbeing on all levels.
